I grew up in Krasnoyarsk, a cultural and artistic center in Siberia. I have been interested in fine art since childhood and attended the Architecture Academy after high school where I received a solid grounding in traditional Russian drawing and painting, with a strong emphasis on analysis, structure, and anatomy. Arriving in Madison, Wisconsin in 2012, I had the good fortune to continue my art education with several established painters including Clayton Beck, Romel de la Torre, Tony Johnson, and others. I have also been following the development of contemporary realism in the west and have been strongly influenced by the work of Laura Robb and Richard Schmid, among others.
Combining the concepts and techniques of classical Russian painting and modern Western realism, I strive towards a unique organic synthesis between the two and work naturalistically and entirely alla prima. My aim is to capture a muted harmony and enduring grace..
I currently live and work in Madison, and have been teaching at the Atwood Atelier at Winnebago Studios since 2014
